Obituary For Cecile Marie Anna Hebert

It is with great sadness that the family of Cecile Hebert, longtime resident of Grande Prairie, AB, announces her passing on Thursday, May 13, 2021, at Prairie Lake Hospice at the age of 67 years.

Cecile was born on March 30, 1954, to Prosper Hebert and Madeleine (nee Brochu). She was raised on the family farm in Guy, AB.

Cecile attended Langlois School until grade 9. In 1972, she completed High School and graduated from George P. Vanier. She then went to Calgary, AB, for a two-year program in broadcasting. In 1974, she graduated and received her Broadcasting Diploma from Mount Royal College. In 1983, she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from the University of Ottawa.

Cecile was a very hard worker who always did her best. She was an announcer, writer and reporter for CBC News and CTV radio and television stations in Alberta and British Columbia, as well as Radio Canada.

Cecile will be sadly missed by her siblings: Gisele (Marcel) Duguay, Claude (Gisele) Hebert, Denise Sosa, Michel (Gloria) Hebert, Jacques (Michelle) Hebert, Donat (Pauline) Hebert; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Cecile was predeceased by her parents Prosper and Madeleine Hebert.

A Funeral Service for Cecile will be held at a later date.

Memorial Donations may be made to Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation (800 College Plaza, 8215 112 St., Edmonton, AB, T6G 2C8), or to a charity of one’s choice.

    My sincere condolences to my dear cousins. I have great memories of Cecile from when she lived in Edmonton. I remember her beautiful smile and the fun we had really getting to know each other. I'm sending hugs to you all. Rest in peace Cecile.
