Obituary For Charlene Knight James
Charlene Mable James, nee Knight, passed away Thursday, July 14, 2016, just after arriving at Points West Hospice in Grande Prairie from home.
Charlene was born April 26, 1943 and raised in Chemainus, BC. She studied in Victoria and taught elementary school briefly before finding Norm and settling down in Langford to raise a family. Years later, with children grown, they moved across to Midway, BC, where Charlene and Norm built fabulous gardens to pass the time. Finally they moved up to Grande Prairie to be close to their son Peter’s family and found a new church family there.
She went to join her 2 brothers Glen and Roy and her mom and dad Mable and Eric Knight at the feet of Jesus.
Charlene leaves behind her loving husband Norman; sons: Peter (Victoria) and Andy (Deborah); daughter Rebecca (Mike); 9 grandchildren, 3 sisters in-law, 1 brother in-law, and many empty hearts of dear friends who have supplied us through this time of need with prayers, flowers, meals, hugs and visits.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, July 26, 2016, at 4:00pm, at Grande Prairie Alliance Church (15502 102 St.). Dinner to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Christians for Israel Canada (PO Box 26048, Brantford, ON, N3R 7X4) to feed the many hungry people who have come from around the world to their homeland.
