Obituary For Chester Romancewicz

Chester Romancewicz, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, passed away on Monday, August 10, 2020, at the age of 69 years.

Chester was born on May 28, 1951, in Puzowicze, Poland. He was raised by his grandmother, and at the age of eleven, he moved to Canada with his family. Chester met Henriette in Edmonton, AB, and they married in 1970. Soon after, they moved to Grande Prairie with their 2 young children and have lived there ever since.

He worked most of his life as an equipment operator. He enjoyed working with his hands, from small projects, to even building his own home.

Chester always had a strong faith, and his love of God and his family were evident to all those who knew him.

He will be sadly missed by his wife of 50 years Henriette; children Keith (Michelle) Romancewicz, and Tracey Romancewicz; grandchildren: Alexandra (Joshua) Sinke, Cynthia (Spencer) Helm, Nicholas Romancewicz (Emma Dallaire), and Courtney Romancewicz (Todd Pearce); sisters Lola (Frank) Sirianni and Eva (George) Calder; brother in-law Bob Therriault; as well as nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents Piotr and Waleria Romancewicz; brother John Romancewicz; mother and father in-law Gisele and Ed Prefontaine; as well as his brother and sister in-law Norm and Audrey Therriault.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2020, at 2:00pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church (10404 102 St.). Due to COVID-19, the number of those who are able to attend will be limited, and a livestream of the service will be hosted on Oliver’s Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/olivers.funeral.home/

    My dear Romancewicz family, I can't truly understand your loss but I imagine it is beyond words. He was such a wonderful man. God took him far too soon. I will pray daily for peace to surround you as you try to live each day without him. May God bless all of you.

    We are saddened and very sorry for your loss. We have great memories of our thespian relationship. This leaves a hole in a very wonderful family. We will keep Chester and the whole family in our prayers.
