Obituary For Cindy Lou Patterson Weiss

Cindy Lou Weiss, resident of Beaverlodge, AB, formerly of Hythe, AB, passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2019, at the QEII Hospital in Grande Prairie, AB, at the age of 59 years.

Cindy was born on July 6, 1959 in Hythe, AB, where she was also raised. She played numerous sports, but her main love was volleyball. After high school, she took Business Admin courses at GPRC. She enjoyed working at the Bear Creek Veterinary Clinic as a Veterinarian Assistant for many years.

Cindy married the love of her life, Myles Weiss, in 1979 and settled near Halcourt, AB, where they had three beautiful children: Lance, Rikki, and Kole. They moved closer to Beaverlodge, and purchased land where they built their “shouse” (shop house).

Cindy loved to host family and friends so she could have outdoor fires in her firepit and roast hotdogs, visit, and listen to music. She also spent many hours with “the girls” (cows) that her and Myles raised together. Cindy was hardworking, loving, and known to many as “momma”, whom she would always have time to guide, nurture and love.

She will be deeply missed by her husband Myles; sons Lance and Kole; granddaughter Loann MacAlister; parents Art and Remona Patterson; mother in-law Liz Weiss; sisters: Tami Patterson, Allayne (Brad) Litwin, and Farrah Patterson (Chris Kochanuk); sister in-law Bev (Mick) Walker; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Cindy was predeceased by her beloved daughter Rikki, brother Laurie Patterson, grandparents Ole and Agnes Heggelund and Miller and Olivia Patterson, and father in-law Nolan Weiss.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2019, at 2:00pm, at Beaverlodge Alliance Church (409 10 St.). Refreshments to follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Beaverlodge Hockey Association – Women’s League (Box 301, Beaverlodge, AB, T0H 0C0) or to Pancreatic Cancer Canada (Suite 508, 36 Eglinton Avenue West. Toronto, ON, M4R 1A1).
