Obituary For Cindy Yvonne McNeil

Cindy Yvonne McNeil, resident of Beaverlodge, AB, passed away unexpectedly in her home on Friday, January 31, 2025, at the age of 62 years.

Cindy was born on July 6, 1962, in Beaverlodge, AB, to Robert and Marna Gingles. She enjoyed working on the family farm as a child and helping in any way she could around the farm. When she was seventeen, she married the love of her life, Don McNeil. Family became her number one priority and Cindy then dedicated her life to her kids and grandkids. Her favorite place to be was at the family river spot, surrounded by the people she loved. She worked a variety of jobs; from driving bus to being a dental assistant. However, nothing compared to her current vocation; she found her passion as an educational assistant.

Cindy’s favorite thing to do was curl, which she had enjoyed playing since her childhood. She also loved to spend her summers at the river. Cindy had a generous spirit; her favourite holiday was Christmas, during which she would go above and beyond to make everyone feel special and “spoiled”.

Cindy will be missed dearly by her husband, Don McNeil; children Dustin McNeil and Terena McNeil (Quentin Schmidt); grandchildren: Payton, Remington, Gracie, Daxton, and Bentley; brother Kevin Gingles (Bobbie); sister Vickie Sowden (John); as well as numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Cindy was predeceased by her father, Robert Gingles; mother Marna Gingles; granddaughter Taylor McNeil; and many more loved ones.

A Celebration of Cindy’s life will be held at a later date.

Memorial donations may be made to Red Willow Boys and Girls Camp or the Canadian Cancer Society (https://cancer.ca/en/ways-to-give/).
