Obituary For Cody Robert McPherson

Cody Robert McPherson, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, formerly of Dawson Creek, BC, passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2022, in Grande Prairie, at the age of 37 years.

“Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up totally worn out and loudly proclaiming, hell yah what a ride.”

Cody will be sadly missed by his father and mother Jack and Judy McPherson; siblings: Chad McPherson, Danielle Lee, Allayna (Ray) Johnston, and Anthony Lee.

Cody was predeceased by his mother Joanne McPherson in 1999.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, August 28, 2022, at 1:00pm (BC time), at Bear Mountain Ski Hill Chalet in Dawson Creek.

Memorial Donations may be made to the Alberta Paraplegic Foundation (11010 101 St. NW, Edmonton, AB, T5H 4B9), or to a charity of one’s choice.

Condolences

To Cody McPherson family. I am so sorry for your loss. Cody and my son Michael Friesen attended Frank Ross Elementary . Michael loved having Cody for a friend. There were never any dull moments. Cody was very active. They did multiple activies together including biking. He was at our place quite a bit during those early years. I remember when Cody got my boys playing with the metal tonka dump trucks and doing demolition derby in the yard. My 2 younger sons ( quite a bit younger) Dustin and Terris were quite impressed with the demolition derby. A few of the trucks did not survive these events. Lol. (Good thing I got them from garage sales...lol) My kids will never forget Cody. They thought he was awesome. And he is. I was sad when Cody lost his Mom and when he suffered a bad accident years ago. Cody will always be in our hearts and minds. He was a big chunk of the earlier years in my kids and my life. On to new things in the next world Cody. God be with you. Love ❤️ Maureen Friesen

So sorry to hear about Cody. We met Cody at a family reunion, such a pleasure. We admired his determination and spirit. Gone far too soon. Condolences from Murray Binner and family.

To the McPherson family. Cody and all the family have always shown us a great time at the reunions. He is fearless and full of energy as was brother Chad. I remember at one of the reunions at the campground we could hear this loud hootin and hollerin and here comes Chad on the quad pulling Cody behind in his wheel chair. You had to be there. So much fun. We hope your soul finds peace and your spirit is free. Love you all Linda and Darcy ❤️
