Obituary For Colin Mervin Johnston

Colin Johnston, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, formerly of Paddle Prairie, AB, passed away on Friday, March 17, 2023, at the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital, at the age of 77 years.

Colin was born in Keg River, AB, and was raised in Paddle Prairie. He worked as a heavy equipment operator, and at P&G, before working as a welder until his retirement.

His family was the greatest joy in his life. He spent many hours with his grandchildren and doing renovations with his son. He also enjoyed hunting and trapping with his dad.

Colin played baseball, which gave him a lot of joy, and he was a collector of unique items.

Colin will be sadly missed by his wife Sue Johnston; children: Jim (Andrea), John, Jessica, and Jennifer (Warren); grandchildren: Bailey, Taya, Morgan, Kaydance, and Colin; as well as his extended family.

Colin was predeceased by his parents Samuel and Rose Johnston.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023, from 1:00-5:00pm, at Prairie Sunrise Towers in Grande Prairie (9649 94 Ave., north side of the building, please use side door).

    Sincere condolences to the Johnston family. RIP Colin. You were always a good neighbour when we were young. Drove by the old homestead last summer. Lots of memories in that place. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ’

    He will also be missed by his sisters Patricia Flett, Josephine Pearson. Rose Johnston and Edna Shaw, along with many nieces and nephews that loved him dearly. He was greeted on the other side by his parents, his twin brother and other siblings. God speed uncle. Oh the celebration when you arrived! โค

    He was the most amazing father and papa and husband everyone that met him loved him his smile his contagious laugh!! He would help anyone anytime as long as he could!!! His family misses him very very much!!
