It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dale Granville Beauchamp on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, in Grande Prairie, AB, at the age of 69 years.

Dale was born on August 10, 1955, in Edmonton, AB to Erma and Gideon Beauchamp. Dale met the love of his life, Noël Walter in Fort Saskatchewan, AB during a summer in university while they were both working there. They were married on September 11, 1976, and enjoyed a life of love together.

He graduated from the University of Alberta from the Mechanical Engineering program with distinction in 1977. His professional career in Grande Prairie began with working on building the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital and he continued to work thereafter for what is now Alberta Health Services. At the time of his retirement, Dale was the respected, and hardworking, Alberta Health Services department lead for Facilities and Maintenance as the head engineer for the Northwest side of the province.

Noël and Dale were each other's best friends and celebrated 48 years of marriage before his passing. They were blessed with three wonderful children and eight grandchildren whom he loved dearly. Most of the time he could be found playing on the floor with the grandkids, involved at their level and immersed in whatever adventures they were having. He lived his happiest days with his family and friends doing the things he loved.

Dale was a master of witty humour and people naturally gravitated toward his kind and funny nature. He was always reliable and dependable, and he would be by your side if you ever needed him. While we lost our most beloved dad, spouse, and grandad; many have also lost a dear friend in him. He was a great friend who would meet you for golf no matter the tee time and was always willing to lend a listening ear and a voice of reason. He was also a cousin, brother, son, uncle, handyman, outdoorsman, avid sports lover, expert campfire maker, the list goes on and on.

Throughout his years, Dale enjoyed playing golf and baseball, watching sports, camping, spending time with his family, and fixing everything from vehicles to Halloween costumes to sports equipment. He could quite literally fix anything that needed fixing. He also loved to read. Although never a novel – rather a manual of something to be fixed, golf magazines, or official rules for a game. Most of all, he loved visiting with his grandkids and made it a priority to form a unique bond with each of them. They brought him so much joy and happiness! He never valued having possessions and his family learned early on that memories and time together were the most important things to achieve.

His wife and best friend, Noël Beauchamp; children: Brie (Dirk) Schotz, Mitchell (Kim) Beauchamp and Rebecca (Derek) Gonci; grandchildren: Berlyn Schotz, Rory Schotz, Marek Schotz, Marley Schotz, Addelyn Beauchamp, Xavier Beauchamp, Jacob Gonci and Davis Gonci; and numerous friends and family will always hold him close to their hearts and celebrate the extraordinary person he was.

A final farewell and funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at 11:02 am (Dale would have a good laugh and appreciate 11:02 as a golf tee time reference) at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Grande Prairie (10404 102 St.). Luncheon in Tranquille Hall to follow from 12:00-1:30 pm.

We were all fortunate to have had him in our lives. He will forever be missed and never forgotten!
