Dave Chaffee, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, formerly of Grande Cache, AB, passed away on Friday, March 24, 2023, in Grande Prairie, at the age of 53 years.

Dave was born on May 3, 1969, in Edmonton, AB, and raised in Grande Cache. He had a passion for cooking, nature, music, and bonfires with friends. Dave was incredibly knowledgeable, creative, nature enthusiast, and musically and artistically talented. He had a strong connection with family, friends, the river, and his dog Jackson.

Dave was funny, quirky, stubborn, sociable, compassionate, and humble. He enjoyed time outside with his beloved dog Jackson, foraging outdoors, playing guitar, mountain biking, hiking, cooking, and building camping structures and campfires. Dave took joy in the simple pleasures afforded by a flickering campfire or sitting by a river with friends.

Dave will be sadly missed by his mother Susan Chaffee; siblings: Veronica, Reese, Rhian, Morgan, Michael, Susie, Dale, Shawn, and Zena; aunts, uncles, and cousins; nephew Ryan; nieces: Morgan, Rebecca, Zoe, Alexis, and Kindra; as well as many other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and numerous family and great friends.

Dave was predeceased by his father Verlin Chaffee; grandparents Walter and Gwenllian Sykes, and Hardin and Lorna Chaffee; as well as aunt Heather Sykes.

A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, March 31, 2023, at 1:00pm, at the Grande Cache Cemetery.
