Obituary For David Paul Plummer
It is with the heaviest hearts that we sadly announce the passing of David Paul Plummer, beloved husband of Sandy Plummer, on Saturday, May 8, 2021, in Grande Prairie, AB, at the age of 66 years, after a short, courageous, and hard-fought battle with brain cancer.
Dave was born on January 23, 1955, in Edmonton, AB to Paul and Peggy Plummer of Whitecourt, AB. After graduating High School in Whitecourt, Dave attended NAIT in Edmonton where he graduated with honours in Telecommunications. Just prior to graduating from NAIT in 1979, Dave was offered a job with AGT (Telus) and relocated to Grande Prairie. While working with AGT, Dave worked in numerous places within Canada and the US.
In 2009, Dave retired from Telus and enjoyed retirement life, some of which included travelling to numerous countries, spending time with family, volunteering, helping anyone who needed it, and rebuilding his jukeboxes.
Dave was so proud of all his family. Everywhere he went, he took the time to tell people how proud he was of his two daughters. For the last four years, he was especially proud of his two grandsons. Mckinnon really was his little shadow, following and doing everything Grandpa did. Dave loved to have him tag along and always allowed Mckinnon to assist him in whatever he was doing. Dave felt blessed that he had some time to spend with baby Max.
Dave will be sadly missed by his loving wife Sandy, daughters Stephanie (Mackenzie Colombe) of Grande Prairie, AB and Kaylee (fiancé Ryan Turner) of Edmonton, AB; grandsons Mckinnon and Max Colombe; brother Glenn (Cindy) of Grande Prairie, AB; brothers-in-law Ernie Marsden (Donna) of Bruce Mines, ON and Gordon (Germaine) Samson of Whitecourt, AB; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Dave was predeceased by his father and mother Paul and Peggy Plummer, sisters Betty Marsden and Dorothy Samson, and father and mother-in-law Rae and Margaret Erickson.
A private Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2021, at 2:00pm, at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave.). A livestream of the service will be available on Dave's obituary on Oliver's website.
The family would like to thank the fabulous teams at the Edmonton Cross Cancer Hospital, Grande Prairie Homecare and Prairie Lake Hospice for their special attention and fabulous care for Dave. To our neighbours, family and friends who called, texted, visited or dropped off food, you all made this difficult journey a little easier.

Mass Robert
Please accept Bonnie and my condolences, George Abele informed me this morning. Dave was a wonderful soul, a conscientious worker and just a great person to be around. We kibutzed a lot and pulled each other's strings a lot, that's what work buddies do. I will sure miss him and I know I'm saying this for everyone who worked with him. Hugs and kisses to you and family, special regards Robert Mass. Ps I hike a lot and have special places I stop and think about all the wonderful people from the telus family who are no longer with us.

Its taken me till today to think of something to write. You never know how close you actually are till the sudden end of life. Even if I wasn't around the last few years I surely missed our talks when you was either dropping by my dad's place for a visit or out of the blue phone call. Watching your amazing life today and the stories being shared from many that loved you cause you are just Dave and showed that you cared for them. I thank God for giving me a chance to visit you last month and talked about everything happening in my past leading me to visit with you that day. Thank you for forgiven me and thank you for your advise to continue to mend myself with family and to follow my heart with my new wife Jenny Samson and family. To Sandy and the girls thank you for giving my uncle a happy and rewarding life filled with memories as he will be sadly missed by all of us but not from our hearts. Rest in ever last peace Uncle David ????
