Obituary For David Schenk
David “Dave” Schenk, resident of Grovedale, AB, passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at the QEII Hospital, at the age of 85 years.
Dave was born November 3, 1931 in Grande Prairie, AB. He was raised in the Rycroft, AB area. He completed Forestry School and served as a Ranger at Woking, Wapiti, and Edson, where he retired in 1987.
Dave enjoyed outdoor activities and was an avid hunter, and fisherman. In later years, he grew to love quading.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 57 years, Bunny; children: Carl (Sara) Schenk of Whitecourt, AB, Glenda (Roy) Ferguson of Edson, AB, and Laura (Larry) King of Peers, AB; grandchildren: Michala Schenk, Luke (Diana) Ferguson, Hannah Ferguson, Sarah-Jayne Ferguson, Christa-Lee Ferguson, Benjamin Ferguson, Rebekah Ferguson, Kerrilynn King, Cory King, and Laurianne King.
Dave was predeceased by his parents Francis and Christine, brother Francis, and sister Celia.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2017, at 2:00pm, at Grovedale Community Hall.
The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation of the care of our husband and father at the emergency department at the QEII Hospital, Grovedale Fire Department, and STARS.
Memorial donations may be made to the Grovedale Fire Department or to STARS (10911 123 St., Grande Prairie, T8V 7Z3).
