Obituary For David Stojan
David Stojan, lifelong resident of Grande Prairie, Alberta, passed away on May 23, 2016 at Queen Elizabeth II Hospital at the age of 28 years.
David was born in 1988 to Jocelyne Thibeault and Mike Stojan. Growing up he was a talented athlete of many sports, but especially hockey. David attended the Composite High School, where he made many lasting friendships and began his career as a welder. David’s greatest attributes were his big heart and his loyalty to friends and family. He was a hunter of many things – game, artifacts, crystals, sheds, and fossils. Dave donated some of these fossils to the University of Alberta collection. From welding to gardening, he took pride and excelled at everything he tackled.
David is survived by the love of his life Tamara Wickberg, his father Michael Stojan (Monica), his mother Jocelyne Thibeault (Simonde Taylor), his brother Jeremy, his sister Danielle (Adrian and Austin), and other extended family and countless friends. We miss you so much Dave.
The celebration of life will be held on May 27th, 2016 at 3:00pm at People’s Gospel Church (11850 108 St. Grande Prairie, Alberta).
Memorial donations may be made to the Philip J. Currie Dinosaur Museum (9301 112 Ave, Wembley, AB T0H 3S0)
PS: He was very stubborn.

Not even sure where to start to tell you how saddened we are at the loss of such wonderful young man. Would see Dave occasionally and he always greeted you the same way with that big warm smile and a handshake. Take comfort in knowing that in such a short time he has touched the lives of so many and will not be forgotten. Though his years were short Dave will leave his mark on many that will last an eternity. All our love and support Brad. Leanne, Morgan and Terii , Tyson Beaupre

My condolences for your loss. There are no words. The pain runs so deep when we lose a child. If there is anything I can do, anything please reach out. I haven't seen David in many years but whenever his name was mentioned, I could not help but smile at the thought of him. Recalling his wonderful smile and positive energy. He was like a warm fire that people just wanted to be around. Our boys shared many hockey games and sports tournaments over the years. Wonderful, wonderful times. The world lost an exceptional Young man way too soon. May our boys be facing off and playing all the sports they loved so much together once again. Too many, too young, gone way too soon. All my love to You Jocelyn and Mike, Jeremy, Danielle and of course Tamara. Xo

Tamara, Mike and Monica , Jocelyne and Simonde, Danielle, Jeremy and families, Words cannot express my sadness for your loss. I was so lucky to know Dave as a young and enthusiastic "paleontologist "! He had such a love for anything science related. I clearly remember him sharing (in confidence) your family's fossil discovery! Every once in a while a teacher comes across a child (and family) that captures a piece of their heart and lives on in their memory forever. Dave ( and your family) were that for me. Imagine my pleasure at reconnecting with Dave as the partner of a very special member of our extended family-Tamara! Our most heartfelt wishes for your peace in knowing what an amazing young man Dave was. Our most heartfelt prayers that you know Dave lives on in the lives ( and hearts) of so many people. Thinking if you all, Lesley
