Obituary For Denise Lena Mitchell
Denise Lena Michell, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, passed away on Thursday, November 4, 2021, at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton, AB, at the age of 60 years.
Denise was born in Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation, AB, on October 28, 1961. She was raised in Vancouver, BC, then moved to Grande Prairie, where she had three children. She then moved to Valleyview, AB, where she met her husband Larry Chowace, together they had two children. Later on, she moved back to Grande Prairie where she lived for many years until she became ill.
Denise enjoyed listening to music, going for walks and volunteering.
Denise will be sadly missed by her husband Larry Chowace; five children: Yvonne Mitchell, Sara Rocha, Erin Walker, Shania Chowace and Tyron Chowace; grandchildren: Allyasia Barore, Marcus Goodswimmer and Johnathan Mitchell; as well as three great-grandchildren.
A Viewing will be held on Monday, November 15, 2021, from 1:00pm-3:00pm, at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave.). Funeral Service to follow at 3:00pm.
