Obituary For Denise Lynn Joudrey

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Denise Lynn Joudrey (nee Larlee), resident of Eaglesham, AB, on Tuesday, July 16, 2024.

A truly remarkable woman whose boundless love and incredible spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. She was the beloved wife to Derek and devoted mother to Kaegin, whose lives were immeasurably enriched by her warmth, kindness, generosity, and unyielding support.

Denise was born June 1, 1970, in Kentville, NS, to Don and Rebecca Larlee. She grew up in the Annapolis Valley region of Nova Scotia before moving to Beaver Bank, NS, in grade two. Her gift of gab was well documented by all her teachers throughout her years of school. She completed two years at Nova Scotia Community College, then moved to New Zealand with Derek for a year. Upon their return, they were invited to move to Alberta. September long weekend of 1993, Denise and Derek packed up what they had and drove across Canada to start their life together. On May 18, 1996, they were married in Nova Scotia. In November of 1999, they were blessed with a bundle of joy, Kaegin. Denise dedicated her life to nurturing her family and serving her community with a heart full of compassion. She volunteered for Royal Purple in Eaglesham and at the Eaglesham School. She recently had spent many hours making cards with the residents of several senior facilities. Denise was actively serving her community as a local county councillor where she sat on numerous boards, all of which are a testament to her dedication to others. Denise will be remembered for her amazing skills, talents and gift of creativity, as there was no craft she couldn’t do. Many friends and family have been blessed with her unending generosity.

Denise will be sadly missed by her husband Derek; son Kaegin (Olivia); mother Rebecca Larlee; brothers: Fred (Gayle) Larlee, Donny (Karen)and boys Evan and Zachary Larlee; father and mother-in-law: Wayne and Carolyn Joudrey; sister-in-law Leanne Bachinsky; and nephews: Harrison and Spencer.

Denise was predeceased by her father Don Larlee, and her brother, Matthew Larlee.

A Viewing will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Oliver’s Funeral Home (10005 – 107 Ave).

A Funeral will follow on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at 2:00PM at the Tangent Community Hall (3 Ave, Tangent, AB).

I remember Denise as one of my Breastie Buddies from Compassion House 2015. She was one of the first ladies I met when I was moving into the house. She was very friendly and outgoing. I also remember she did a tv interview for fashion for Compassion fundraiser and all of us attending the event. I also remember attending a get together in Grand Prairie and a couple in the Edmonton area thru Compassion House. And all of us reconnecting. Unfortunately with Covid we missed getting together. Sending prayers to her family. She is truly an angel. Love Kim Fischbach Camrose, AB
