Obituary For Donald "Don" James Sawchuk

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donald “Don” James Sawchuk, a resident of Grande Prairie, AB on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at the age of 77 years. Don took his last breath with his loving wife, Christina by his side at the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.

Don was born on January 14, 1947 in Mannville, AB.

Don was always there to lend a helping hand, a word of advice or just a listening ear. He made lasting impressions on all who knew him and will be deeply missed by those who crossed paths with him along the way.

Don is survived by his wife Christina; children: Jacqueline (Dave), Candace (Rob), Courtney, Drew (Jennifer) and Cameron (Lisa); sisters Sheryl (Wayne) and Marian; eleven grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews and many friends he had made throughout his life.

Don was predeceased by his parents Caroline and William “Bill” Basil Sawchuk.

As requested by Don, there will be no Memorial Service.

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
