Obituary For Donald Frank Hosker

Donald Frank Hosker, husband, father, papa, and jack-of-all-trades, passed away peacefully on the evening of Saturday, June 23, 2018, at the age of 71 years.

Donald was born September 25, 1946, on his grandfather’s homestead at Pipestone Creek. He grew up in the Peace Country, getting into shenanigans with his brother and best friend, Lawrence. He started school at Pipestone Creek and moved on to Wembley School.

While Don held Journeymen tickets in both welding and industrial insulating, he most enjoyed operating heavy equipment and hauling logs. He had a passion for horses and the outdoors. When he wasn’t gardening or woodworking in his free time, he could often be found with a novel in his hands.

He found love in a young woman named Frances Woloszyn. They were married July 6, 1973 and walked hand-in-hand ever since. The couple moved around the Peace Country before they started their family and made a home outside of Beaverlodge.

Don will be deeply missed by his devout wife Frances; children: Kenneth, William (Trudy), and Ashley (Randy Ward); and by his grandchildren: Cadence, Kaslin, Cheyenne, Madison, Paige, Judah, Maggie, and Amelia.

He was predeceased by his parents Ralph and Molly (Mary Jane Farquhar) Hosker, granddaughter Farrah Hosker, father and mother in-law Kasmier and Adeline (nee Bilinski) Woloszyn, and brother in-law Leslie Woloszyn.

An informal Memorial Tea will be held on Friday, June 29, 2018, at 1:00pm, at Wembley Community Hall.

Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
