Obituary For Donna Labarowski
Donna Labarowski, resident of Grande Prairie, lost her battle with Parkinson Disease on Sunday, May 13, 2018, at Points West Living, at the age of 80 years.
Donna was born on February 3, 1938 in Cabri, SK. She was raised on the farm in Cabri and attended high school in Swift Current. She received her teaching certificate from the University of Saskatchewan. She taught for two years and then she married Walter in 1958.
Because of Walter’s work, they moved to Hamilton, ON and then to Cincinnati, Ohio. While there, she received a Degree in Library Media Studies from the University of Cincinnati. They moved to Grande Prairie in 1981. She worked as a Librarian at Grande Prairie Regional College from 1984-1995 when she had to retire due to her Parkinson.
She was very quiet and humble, always caring for others and putting their needs before hers. She loved sewing, cooking, and reading.
Donna will be sadly missed by her sons: Doug (Darlene) and Don (Kim); grandchildren: Daniel, Branden, Karah, and Taylor; and brother Hugh Lynnes.
She was predeceased by her husband Walter in 2015.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday May 19, 2018, at 1:00pm, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Grande Prairie (9929 105 Ave.).
Memorial donations may be made to Parkinson Association of Alberta (103, 10901 100 St., Grande Prairie, AB, T8V 2M9).
