Obituary For Dorothy Margaret Sudnik

Dorothy Margaret Sudnik, resident of Hythe, AB, passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2022, at the University of Alberta Hospital in Edmonton, AB, at the age of 95 years.

Dorothy was born on January 10, 1927, in Brainard, AB, to parents Francis and Myrtle Reaume, she was the 6th born with 10 brothers and sisters. She moved to Hythe so she could go to high school. Dorothy went back to school in later years and became a teacher, teaching in Fox Lake, AB, for quite a few years. She taught in Hythe as well.

Dorothy liked kids and liked keeping them active. She spent time with the kids doing boy scouts, cubs and brownie, and driving them around to different events. She enjoyed playing ball and swimming in her younger days and continued with swimming in seniors Olympics in her later years.

Dorothy will be sadly missed by her children Greg (Debbie) Sudnik and Cindy (Lawrence) Walker; grandchildren: Tina (Todd), Rod (Alison), Nathan (Michelle), Cody (Chelsea) Leonard, and Christina; as well as great-grandchildren: Taylor, Tehgan, Brody, Rylan, Shevie, Mason, Kayla, Madison, Rebecca, Zachary, Sadie, Paizley, and Bentley.

Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Ross in 2013; grandson Michael; parents Francis and Myrtle; brothers: George, Ramon, Johnny, Leon, and David; as well as sisters: Leda (Wannie), Juanita, and Elaine.

A Viewing will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at 10:00am, at St. Edmunds in Hythe. Funeral Service to follow at 11:00am. Interment to follow at Hythe Cemetery. Luncheon to follow at St. Edmunds.

Memorial Donations may be made to Kidney Foundation of Canada (202, 11227 Jasper Ave., Edmonton, AB, T5K 0L5), or to a charity of one’s choice.
