Obituary For Dorothy Owen Brehmer
Dorothy Jean Brehmer (nee Owen) died peacefully and went to live with Jesus, her
Savior on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 after a short fight with cancer, at the age of 72 years.
She was born in Maple Creek, SK on July 6, 1944 and raised in Wrentham, AB with her four siblings. She married Arvin Brehmer in 1964 and shortly thereafter moved to Grande
Prairie and lived in the area ever since.
She will be greatly missed and remembered by her children and grandchildren: Larry and Carla Brehmer from Whitehorse, YT; Doug Brehmer, Melody Brehmer and grandchildren: Kyle, Jessica and Alexa from Grande Prairie, AB; Lynda and Max Blazina and grandchildren: Ryshon, Christian and Tryse from Cochrane, AB. Also left to grieve are her brothers and sister: Richard and Rosemary Owen, Les and Deb Owen and Judy and Gary Bourne; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Her second family, the Wohlgemuths, will miss her as well.
She is predeceased by her parents Douglas and Jessie, first husband Arvin, sister Gail, sister in-law Eileen, nephew Jesse, niece Diana and her second husband George.
Dorothy was well known and loved in her extended church family and will leave a hole in the lives of her church McLaurin Baptist Church, her +55 group and the Saturday Morning Breakfast Club that she started over 30 years ago.
She will always be remembered for her contagious and always ready laugh, her ability to be friends with everyone she met and her adventurous spirit that
led her to travel the world. The great love she had for her family and her God will forever be in our hearts.
Her Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2016, at 2:00pm, at McLaurin Baptist Church in Grande Prairie (10913 107 Ave.).
In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made to Camp Wapiti (c/o McLaurin Baptist Church (10913 107 Ave., Grande Prairie, AB, T8V 7P9) if you wish.

Doug, Thinking of you and remembering all the great memories of your mom. Even up to a few years ago she used to introduce me as , "this is Lynette, an old sweetie of Doug's"... and then she would giggle! Oh that giggle...I miss that! I hope you're doing okay. I'm sorry I can't be at your moms service but I'm on call and working the weekend. Please know my heart and thoughts will be with you and your family. Losing a mom sucks! Hugs Lynette

Dorothy was full of laughter and happiness, and she spread joy wherever she went. Anyone who knew her loved her. It was wonderful to have her as an aunt. It's hard to imagine what you three are going through, but please know you are especially loved and cared for in our hearts and prayers. We love you, Brenda and Dorit
