Obituary For Duane Robert Lauritsen

Duane Robert Lauritsen passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at the age of 53 years.

Duane was born on April 2, 1966 and was raised in Grande Prairie, AB. He moved to Calgary in 1988 and attended the University of Calgary, graduating with a Civil Engineering degree in 1993.

Duane’s vision and passion will be remembered by all who knew him. He was in Calgary doing what he loved, sharing his dream of empowerment and prosperity for Canada. Duane left an impact on everyone he met and his life transitioned when he moved to Montreal in 2017.

He is survived by his mother Shirley, children Calla and Stefan, sister Karen (Will), niece Siobhan, and fiancée Shanika.

Duane was predeceased by his father Harold.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2019, from 1:00pm-3:00pm, at the Dunes Golf and Winter Club (located 4 kilometres south of Grande Prairie on Resources Road).

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Heart and Stroke of Alberta (144, 5241 Calgary Trail NW, Edmonton, AB, T6H 5G8).

    Dear Shirley and Karen : I just read about Duane's passing this afternoon and wish to express my sincere condolences to both of you, and all your family .

    I worked with your Dad some years back at AMEC. We had recently rejuvenated our relationship trying to get projects going and how I will remember him is his unending energy he put into everything including his work and family. I still cannot believe he has passed and my heartfelt condolences to you both.
