Obituary For Dwight Nickel
Dwight David Nickel, resident of La Glace, passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2016, at the Beaverlodge Hospital, at the age of 66 years.
Dwight was born in Borden, SK. He met Vera at Bethany Bible Institute in Saskatchewan, and they were married on November 20, 1971.
He loved technology, music, and nature. He could fix anything, just like his dad. For years he worked as a finishing carpenter, teaching many others the trade along the way. When his knees gave out, he began estimating supplies for construction.
In the last years he enjoyed long motorcycle rides and photography.
His faith was his highest priority. Serving through music, teaching and sound technology. We know we will see him again.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Vera; his children: Kleanza (Mike) Bennett, Jared (Shannon) Nickel, and Kara (John) Skeoch; grandchildren: Kiara, Jalena, Callen, Treah, Gunnar, Jace, Sebastian, Malachi, Elijah and Simon; mother Katie of Saskatoon; as well as Dwight and Vera’s brothers and sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father Victor.
The Interment will take place on Thursday, June 23, 2016, at 11:00am, at La Glace Bible Fellowship Cemetery.
The Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, June 23, 2016, at 2:00pm, at La Glace Bible Fellowship (9901-99 St.).
Memorial donations may be made to Bear Lake Bible Camp (Box 390, Sexsmith, AB, T0H 3C0).

Luther and want to send our heart felt condolencess. As Vivan and I learnt with our folks passing, FOR THIS WE HAVE JESUS!!! Leaning on the ever lasting arms. All the way my Savior leads me, what have I to be fear beside. Abide with me. My Jesus I love Thee, I know Thou art mine. Until then with joy I'll carry on, until the day mine eyes behold the city, until the day God calls me love. Oh how I love Jesus. We will be remembering you. With our love and prayers. Luther and Ruth

Dear Vera and your family. I got to know Dwight at Bethany where we both sang in the male octet. We sang the same voice (baritone) in the octet and it was great to have him as part of the group -- not only for his voice but for his friendly, sincere manner. While it has been over 45 years since those days, I can still here his laugh and his voice. May you experience God's presence during this time of sadness. We mourn with you. Ron Ratzlaff

Dwight is gone. Hard to imagine. We acknowledge your loss, Vera and family. Dwight was a very special man. He was a big encouragement to me at Bethany. He was generous, a humble leader and great facilitator of music. He led our Blitz group choir. My greatest memories are of his leadership in our Psalter quartet, musically and in every way. He bought the old International travelall for our quarter tour. Such great memories of singing with him. We understand he is released to wholeness and peace. May you find courage and strength for the days ahead.
