Obituary For Edmund Glenn Varrin
It is with profound sorrow, that the family of Eddy Varrin, announce his tragic passing due to a vehicle accident, at the young age of 21 years, on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at 100 Mile House, BC.
Eddy was born January 8, 2002, in Grande Prairie, AB, to his loving and proud parents, Glenda and Rodney Varrin. He was blessed with his only sibling, his brother and best friend, Philip Varrin, just two short years later.
Eddy spent his school years in Grande Prairie, attending Mother Teresa and St. Joe's High school, where he was surrounded by a large circle of friends. Since completing high school, Eddy had the luxury of working beside his Dad as a scaffolder.
Eddy was given the gift of Talus, a son of his own, just a short twenty months ago. He was the apple of his eye; he loved being his father and was excited to plan a future for them.
He loved the outdoors, riding his sled was his favourite thing to do. He also loved to ride quad, as anything with a motor and/or wheels made him happy. He enjoyed playing football, camping and boating with family and friends.
He always loved to have a pet, and his family's present dog, Jasper, is feeling the loss without him.
Eddy lived on the sunny side of life, always with a smile on his face. He had a giant heart and an infectious personality, with the ability to light up each and every room he walked into.
Eddy will be sadly missed by his parents Glenda and Rodney; brother Philip; son Talus and his mom Trinity House; grandparents: Jean and Glenn Hillier; grandmother Phyllis Eddy (Ron); girlfriend Rylie Nepinak; aunts and uncles: Rob (Melanie) Varrin, Amie (Ernie) Bartlett, and Teena and Lana Eddy; cousins: Chris and Emilie Varrin, Jaxon and Rodney Bartlett, Lena and David Ivens, and Madison and Nicholas Locke; as well as many more family and friends.
Eddy was predeceased by his grandfather Melvin Eddy.
"Our dear Son. We closed our eyes for but a moment, and suddenly a man stood where a boy used to be. We may not carry you in our arms, but we will always carry you in our hearts. You have given us so many reasons to be proud of the man you have become. But the proudest moment for us is telling others that you are our son. We love you now and forever".
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at 3:00pm, at Oliver's Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave.). Luncheon to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Varrin family, for a trust that will be established for Talus, send to gmvarrin@gmail.com.

Getting to grow up around Eddy meant growing up with a tummy that always hurt from laughing so much. He was such a bright light in so many peoples lives, whether you were best friends or just meeting him for the first time. The passion he had for life is admirable and you don't meet many people like him. Eddy was many things but forgotten will never be one of them, it was a privilege to know him. Although saying gone too soon is a massive understatement, nothing could ever take away the impact he had on everyone around him. To his family; I don't think anything could make this loss hurt any less, however I hope you find comfort in the fact that Eddy was loved and adored beyond measure. Rest in peace sweet boy.

Our deepest condolences for the loss of Eddy. I had the pleasure of meeting Eddy when he was only in grade 6. Although I'm sure he didn't always love having me as his Vice Principal, that never stopped him from partying at my house with my three girls. When we had puppies, Eddy made sure to ask his mom for one, and we were forever grateful for how Jasper became a part of their family. I also loved watching Eddy grow into such a loving dad. My heart breaks for his son who loss such a good and loving dad. My prayers are with you all as you mourn this incredible loss. Sending our love Tina, Les, Taylor, Kiera, Brooke, and Troy McDonald

Eddy was one of my best friends though out highschool and I held a special place in my heart for him even when we didn't hang out and we were off with our own life's, I will never forget the great memories we had together eating fast food, whipping in the mini Van (homie holler). Growing up around Eddy was such a blessing. He always had a smile on his face, he could cheer you up regardless of how you were feeling. He always had a joke to tell, or a smart comment. He made everyone around him feel loved and appreciated. Eddy was by far the funniest and most down to earth guy I've ever met. We spent alot of time together from after school bus rides to a mutual friends basements on weekends. I feel so honored and proud to say that Eddy Varrin was my friend. Eddy, my friend, I hope you're up there goofing around, making everyone laugh, riding anything and everything with a motor. My condolences to Glenda, Rod, Phillip and family. You all raised an amazing human being who beamed with happiness and love. Eddy definitely made a positive impact on everyone he encountered.
