Obituary For Edna Soiseth Haakstad
Edna Mae Haakstad (nee Soiseth), born November 6, 1925, in Hamar, North Dakota, passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2019, at the QEII Hospital in Grande Prairie, at the age of 93 years.
Edna moved to Mayfair, SK, as a child and then to LaGlace, AB, in her youth where she remained until moving to Grande Prairie thirteen years ago. She had many wonderful years at Dieppe Manor before moving to Heritage Lodge for her final year.
She will be fondly remembered for her love of card games, a good cup of coffee, shopping, baking, and all things family.
Edna will be sadly missed by Duane (Debbie) Haakstad, Lois (Dave) Dodd, Brenda (Brian) LeCleir; four grandchildren: Mike (Heather) Haakstad, Carla Dodd, Ray Haakstad, Tina (Jason) Wiens; as well as five great-grandchildren: Kyle, Jackson, Zack, Charlie, and Elanor.
Edna was predeceased by her husband Odmun; brothers: Gilmore, Tommy and Lloyd; and sisters: Nathalia, Alvina, and Mavis.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Calvary Lutheran Church in LaGlace, AB, (10002 101 Ave.) on Saturday, July 13, 2019, at 2:00pm, with refreshments to follow in the church wing.
Memorial donations may be made to the Northfield Cemetery (Box 54, LaGlace, AB, T0H 2J0) or to the charity of one’s choice.
