Obituary For Edward George Jenner

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our brother, uncle, grandfather and friend, Edward George Jenner on Sunday, December 29, 2024, at the age of 74 years.

Ed was born on April 29, 1950, in Beaverlodge, AB, to George and Alice Jenner. Ed spent his youth on the family farm outside of Hythe, AB. In 1967 he enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces where he spent five years being an aero engine technician. After leaving the forces he worked as a heavy-duty mechanic at Union Tractor and R. Angus. He also spent time with Don Pearson Construction and spoke fondly of the experiences he had working in the North. After his marriage to Shelly German, they moved to Grand Forks, B.C., where he spent fifteen years employed at Canpar Industries. Eventually, he found his way back to the Peace Country, living the last years of his life near Demmitt, AB.

Ed was an adventurer at heart and had many stories to go with those adventures. He loved country driving and knew the area quite well. He was passionate about the great outdoors. Fishing was his most loved pastime, along with a good old hockey game.

He is survived by his siblings Merlin, Gwen, and Gordon; nephew Jonathan; nieces Susan, Carly, Kelly and Jamana, stepdaughter Heather; granddaughters Samantha and Meadow; as well as all of their spouses and children. He will also be missed by his special feline friend, Bobbi who will miss all his loving attention.

Edward is predeceased by his wife Shelly; parents George and Alice; his grandparents; nephew Jarrett and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

As per Ed's request no service will be held.

Rest in peace brother.

Love, Gwen.

Will miss you cousin. Deepest condolences to the family. Fondest memories of when we were young teenagers and you teaching me how to ride a motorcycle and how to milk a cow. Al Olson.

My condolences to the family. Ed had a wealth of knowledge about many things and was generous with sharing that knowledge. We had some great conversations the last few years and I will surely miss him.
