Obituary For Edwin Bossert
Edwin Bossert passed away peacefully at home on July 29, 2023, at the age of 81 years.
Edwin possessed a combination of his own quirky intelligence and a fascination of anything the least bit "interesting". He forged a career path quite different from the mainstream. From a journeyman painter to a homesteader, to a property manager, he was always looking for the next adventure.
His greatest field of interest was the wilderness, an avid hunter, fisherman, and spending time looking at the trees kept Edwin entertained and young at heart.
The family’s heartfelt appreciation goes to Edwin’s doctors, nursing staff, homecare staff, Grande Prairie Regional Hospital, and all those involved in Edwin’s care. You are all angels.
He is survived by his children: daughter Barbara (Ron), son Glen (Robyn), and son Stephen (Leslie); grandchildren: Oceanna (Curtis), Dylan (Sabrina), Teagan (Dawn), Ethan, Jade, Alexis, and Jennah; great-grandchildren: Jo, Charlie, Lynx, Adelydes, Xylen, Carson, and Skylar; sister Lydia (Ken); along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Edwin did not want a funeral. "Too sad", he said. Please join us for a Celebration of his Life. Open microphone time will be part of his service to give those an opportunity to share their memories, stories, and good times.
A Celebration of Life, will be held on Monday, August 7, 2023, at 11:00am, at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave.).
Memorial Donations may be made to Hayin’ in the 30’s (https://www.hayinginthe30s.com) in recognition of his valiant fight against lung cancer.
