Obituary For Elie Badger
Elie “Donald” Badger, resident of Valleyview/ Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2019, at his family home, at the age of 70 years.
Don was born in High Prairie, AB on March 26, 1949 and lived his life in the Valleyview/ Sturgeon Lake Area.
His hard-working man's hands came from many years of Autobody work and Mechanic work. He also took a lot of pride in his outdoor toys. He was always willing to give a helping hand for anyone in need without question.
Don often was teasing the ones he loved with their little inside jokes or memories they had together and would enjoy a good cup of coffee with friends and family.
He will be deeply missed by his wife of 40 years, Kathleen. Don will forever be in the hearts of his three beautiful daughters: Amanda (Russel), Nikki (Ben), and Natasha (Layne). He also had a special bond with Harmony, his granddaughter, who he loved and cared for as one of his own daughters. He was a proud grandfather to his 13 grandchildren: Donovan (Dawn), Chandelle, Winona, Branden, Andrew, Breanna, Paige, Faith, Kyleigh, Rhyder, Asher, and Lily. He was a Chappie to 7 great-grandchildren: Yaisha, Christopher, Cruz, Olivia, Drew, Bishop and Orion; and proud "Kiyas" to Tyson Jr. Goodswimmer.
Don was predeceased by his mother Helen Goodswimmer; father Dolan Badger; grandmother Nancy Goodswimmer; grandfather Achilles Ahpeeseekowasis; brother Malcolm Badger; friend (father figure) Riel Andrews; close friends Rusty Beaudry, Darlene Ghostkeeper, and Floyd Wood; and longtime friends Hilda and Reg Lizotte.
Don was a man who never cared much about himself in time of mourning but he would say to his loved ones, "Life Goes On" and he would want us to remember that.
The Viewing will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2019, from 9:00am to 12:00pm at Sturgeon Lake Community Hall.
The Funeral Service will follow at 1:00pm.
Cremation will be held in Grande Prairie, AB at a later date.
