Elizabeth “Betty” Batyski, resident of Grande Prairie, formerly of High Prairie, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at the age of 85 years.

Betty was born September 30, 1930, in Mannville, AB to Ann and Stanley Kaminsky. She was the middle child of seven children. Betty married Leon in 1953, and together they raised 2 children, Wayne and Terri, in High Prairie, AB. Betty moved to Vancouver Island in 1986 and moved to Grande Prairie in 1996 to be closer to her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter Terri Batyski, daughter in-law Barbara Batyski, grandson William Sturgeon (Gypsy), great-grandchildren Alicia and Faith Batyski (mother Shannon), sister Lillian Turnbull, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, husband Leon, son Wayne and grandson Dwayne.

A Funeral Liturgy will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at 7:00pm at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave).
