Obituary For Emma Magdalena Sage

It is with great sadness to announce the sudden passing of an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Emma Magdalena Sage (Mildenberger), on January 1, 2025, at the age of 84. She leaves behind her husband of 51 years Peter Erve Sage, son Tom Dodds (Terry), daughters Rhonda Sage-Brown (Adam), Kelly Sage-Oake (Shawn), and Dusty Sage as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren that adored her tremendously.

She was predeceased by her mother Anna Mildenberger (nee Schenfeldt), father Adam Mildenberger, brothers: Ray, Joe and Leo as well as sisters: Edie, Daisy, and Caroline. She is survived by her brother Alex Mildenberger and sisters, Rosie Lambert and Margie Neal.

Emma was born in Pollockville, AB, and resided for a couple years in Primate SK, and spent most of her life in the Peace Country. Emma was fiercely protective over her family and loved with her whole heart. She would have given the shirt off her back to anyone, always wanted family to be together, and was the strongest woman on the planet. Anyone that was blessed enough to taste her cooking/baking, listen to hear her sing and play instruments, or spend time listening to her words of wisdom, were very fortunate.

We will hold all her memories dear to our hearts and honor all the legacies she left behind. She was loved beyond words and will be missed sorely. Like we always say “It’s never goodbye, it’s see ya soon”

In lieu of flowers, please donate to Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Emma and my mother Anne became great friends when they lived in Sexsmith. After Mom moved to Edmonton I'd stop and see Emma at the grocery store and have a chat and catch up. Emma was an incredibly sweet lady with a great sense of humour and wit. To Emma's family please accept my condolences, she'll be sorely missed.
