Obituary For Eric Wong

Eric Wong passed away Sunday, November 5, 2017, at the age of 35 years.

Eric was born May 21, 1982, in Kamloops, BC, where he was raised. He moved to Grande Prairie for work and to raise his family with his high school sweetheart, Ashley.

He enjoyed spending his time snowboarding with his boys and beating them at video games. Eric loved his family more than anything. There is nothing he wouldn’t do for them.

Eric was always joking, wore a big smile and had a unique laugh.

He will be sadly missed by the love of his life “his princess” Ashley McDonald; children: Kai, Carter, Lyoto and Destiny; father Kent (Arlene); mother Elly (Jim); siblings: Tom (Cora Lee), Phil (Cana), Jenn (Josh); nephews and nieces: Emyle, RJ, Tasha, Gemma, Zaida and Talas. Also, his mother in-law Lynda (Terry); father in-law Dale (Gwen); sisters in-law: Rhi (Ryan), and Lindsay; brothers in-law: Aaron, Connor (Kennedy), Braden, and Kirby (Breanne).

A Viewing will be held Friday, November 10, 2017, at 10:00am, at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave).

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, November 12, 2017, at 1:00pm, at Oliver’s Funeral Home.

Memorial donations may be made to the family (c/o Oliver’s Funeral Home 10005 107 Ave. Grande Prairie, AB, T8V 1L8), to assist in alleviating expenses at this time.

I am just devastated to hear the sad news about Eric. He spent a lot of time at our place in Kamloops growing up with our son and we always found him to be warm, kind, friendly and humorous. I had the pleasure of meeting his lovely wife and two of their beautiful children one afternoon in Kamloops when our paths crossed. I am so very sorry for your loss. Eric was a very special person.
