Obituary For Esther Ramona Larson Milliken
Esther Ramona Milliken (nee Larson), resident of Beaverlodge, formerly of Montney, BC, passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2017, at the QEII Hospital, at the age of 76 years.
Esther grew up on the family farm in Valhalla with her two brothers, Leonard and Ronald Larson. Esther married the love of her life, Roderick Milliken, on December 30, 1961. They spent many happy years together.
Esther always loved gardening and animals. She would take in all the stray animals because she could not stand to see them abandoned. Her favorite years were spent on the farm in Montney with her husband Rod Milliken and having all the grandchildren come to visit while baking and gardening.
Esther is survived by her brother Len Larson (Ruth), sister in-law Lil Larson, and brother in-law Dale Milliken (Beth); daughters: Kim Clark (Mike), Janet Rodacker (Mark) and Tracy Ziniuk (Troy); grandchildren Bradley Slatter, Pamela Levins (Robin), Jeffrey Ziniuk, Megan St. Germain (Kynan), Tayler Garberg (Coleman), Mckayla Van Nieuwkerk (Rylie) and Spencer Rodacker; great-grandchildren: Matthew, Riley, Kade, and Theo; as well as many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Esther was predeceased by her parents Elmer and Ragna Larson, husband Rod Milliken and brother Ron Larson.
A Celebration of Esther’s life will be held on Friday, September 29, 2017, at 10:30am at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie, AB (10005 107 Ave.). Tea to follow.
Memorial donations may be made to any animal rescue or cancer foundations.
