Obituary For Ethel Louise Hawkes Badger
Ethel Louise Badger, our mom, grandma, and friend to many, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, passed away on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at the Mackenzie Care Center in Grande Prairie, at the age of 87 years.
Mom was born to Lewis and Olga Hawkes on July 4, 1933. She was one of eight children and her siblings include: Doreen (Miller), Vern, Don, Bill, Wallace, Earl and Clinton.
Ethel is survived by her daughters Maureen and Shelley; grandchildren: Terry, Parker, Melissa, Sydney and Ben; and grand-dog Frankie.
Ethel was predeceased by her husband Gord; as well as sons Audie and Brent.
As per her wishes there will be no funeral or memorial service. We would like to suggest that you celebrate her life by playing your favourite music. It was mom’s passion. Her music was her happy place. In fact, she was up playing the piano at the care center 4 days before she passed. One more concert before she left us. For decades she played at various events throughout the year in Grande Prairie and surrounding area.
We would like to thank the wonderful staff at Mackenzie Place. It was like a home away from home for mom because she had spent so much time there playing music over the years. We are eternally grateful for the care each of you provided.
