Obituary For Ethel Marie Keillor Drysdale (Steinke)

Ethel Marie Drysdale (Steinke), nee Keillor, passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2016, at Points West Living in Grande Prairie, at the age of 86 years.

Ethel was born November 10, 1929 in Last Lake, AB. She was the youngest of 12 children.

Ethel is survived by her siblings: Pete (Helen) Keillor and Ruth (Ron) Dittberner; children: Lynda (Bob) Hancock, Ken (Sherry), Larry (Dorothy), Kathy (Don) McKinnon, Pam (Ken) Binks and Pat (Archie) Meurs; daughters in-law: Arlene and Sharon; father of her children Norman; Edward Steinke; and special caregivers: Susan, Marie and Marlene. Ethel has left a legacy of 21 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. She also leaves sisters in-law: Marguerite, Marion Leggatt, Betty and Merle; as well as many nephews, nieces and cousins whom she loved as her own.

Ethel was predeceased by her parents, ten brothers, sisters and their spouses, daughter in-law Gwen Zmean Martin and granddaughter Adele Binks.

Ethel lived for her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed music, curling, golfing, square dancing, sewing, cooking, gardening and volunteer work.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2016, at 1:00pm, at Clairmont United Church (9915-100 Ave.)

    Our thoughts and prayers are with all of Ethel's family. Great memories come to mind when I think of her especially those with the families all gathering for the Christmas meals. How the adults ever got in a word edgewise with all the noise us kids made running through the house. Great memories of a great lady.

    Lance and I pass on our sincere condolences to each one of you. We have fond memories of staying at Drysdale's during curling bonspiels. Ethel was always welcoming, kind, generous and fun. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this time.
