Obituary For Evelyn Bernice Waldie
Evelyn Bernice Waldie, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, formerly of Hythe, AB, passed away peacefully with family at her side on Sunday, July 11, 2021, at the QEII Hospital at the age of 92 years.
Evelyn was born in Yahk, BC, on November 6, 1928. She was raised in Kilkerran, BC, and grew up with Swedish and Norwegian heritage. Evelyn had five children that she along with their father Raymond Waldie raised on the family farm in East Doe River, BC. Evelyn loved to socialize with friends and family. She enjoyed community dances, jamborees and rodeos, if music was playing she was dancing.
AT family gatherings there was usually a bucket of KFC involved
Evelyn will be sadly missed by her children: Bunny (Vern), Lynne (Jim), Ruth, Edward, and Ann; grandchildren: Jason, Link, Dax, Wendy, Wanda, Duana, Brandon, and Brittney; great-grandchildren: Reese, Payton, Priya, Luke, Jenna, Chandler, Dathan, Kyle, Trista, Daralan, Davanna, Olivia, Gracie, Gemma, Brooklynn, Kolby, and Lexie; sister: Sophie Prince; as well as many nieces nephews and friends
Evelyn was predeceased by the love of her life Harold Nelson, Brothers: Sig, Birjard and Henry as well as grandchildren Shayne and Bob.
She is survived by her 97 year old sister Sophie Prince of Kelowna, B Memorial Donations may be made to Golden Age Center (10222 101 Ave., Grande Prairie, AB, T8V 0Y5), or to a charity of one’s choice.
