Obituary For Evelyn Head Roessler

Evelyn Agnes Roessler (nee Head), lifetime resident of Grande Prairie and Sexsmith passed away peacefully on Monday, March 12, 2018, at QEII Hospital in Grande Prairie, at the age of 94 years.

Evelyn was born to George and Isabella Head in Grande Prairie on May 13, 1923. She grew up on the farm just west of Grande Prairie.

She married Fred Roessler in 1944.They had 3 sons: Garry (Patricia), Bob (Lynda), and Dennis (Colleen). They lived in the Clairmont and Sexsmith area, and later retired to Grande Prairie.

Evelyn was very involved in community, family, and friends.

She is survived by brother Ken; and sons: Garry, Bob, and Dennis. Evelyn was blessed with 7 grandchildren: Karen Baker, Gail Roessler, Scott Roessler, Stacey Twerdochlib, Dana Johnson, Krista Roessler, and Chance Roessler; and 10 great-grandchildren: Alexis Baker, Knight Baker, Heath Perry, Taryn Regan, Breya, Twerdochlib, Pyper Johnson, Avyn Johnson, Jesse Roessler, and Jordan Roessler.

She was predeceased by her husband Fred in 2007; parents George and Isabella; 8 brothers: Stanley, Harry, George, Sherman, Bill, Walter, Inor, and Alf Head; and sister Laura Partlow.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, March 29, 2018, at 1:00pm, at Grande Prairie Alliance Church (15502 102 St., Grande Prairie, AB, T8X 0J6).

Interment will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Grande Spirit Foundation (9505 102 Ave., Grande Prairie, AB, T8V 7G9) where Evelyn resided for many great years, or to a charity of one’s choice.
