Obituary For Florence Beaulieu
Florence Beaulieu, a long-time resident of Fairview AB (and more recently of Grande Prairie, AB) passed away peacefully at the Grande Prairie Care Centre on Monday, April 22, 2024 at the age of 96 years.
Florence was born in Camrose, AB on February 9, 1928. After high school, she entered nursing training where she completed one year and realized nursing was not her calling. She then began teacher training. Florence taught in several communities, including Wetaskiwin, Edmonton, Stettler, Prince Rupert and finally at St. Thomas More in Fairview. She continued to go back to the University of Alberta during the summers to finish her degree.
Florence met Louis Beaulieu in Fairview and they married in 1960 and raised six children. Once the kids were all out of the house, she taught piano, learned to paint and quilt, as well as volunteered in her community with Victim Services. She was also a trustee for the Catholic School Board.
She is survived by her six children: Marie (Ric) Moreau of Grande Prairie, Brenda Beaulieu of Grande Prairie, Denis (Carolee) Beaulieu of Moose Jaw, Ann Lloyd of Kelowna, Carol Kriwokon of Airdrie and Emery (Lori) Beaulieu of Fairview; as well as fifteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Florence was predeceased by her husband Louis; infant son Marcel; son-in-law Warren Lloyd; brothers: Charlie, Tom and Bill; as well as sister Margaret.
Prayers will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024 at 7:00pm at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Grande Prairie, AB (10404 102 St.). A Funeral Mass will be Saturday, April 27 at 10:30am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Grande Prairie, AB.
Interment will be at the Friedenstal Cemetery in Fairview, AB at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Crossroads Resource Centre and Women’s Shelter in Fairview (crossroadsresourcecentre.com).

To the Beaulieu family. My thoughts are with you at this time of remembering. Even though we have all long grown into our independent lives, the loss of our mothers is keenly felt. I have many clear and fond memories of Aunt Florence: playing the piano, her warm, kind presence, and especially her laugh. My daughter's favourite quote about a life well lived seems appropriate to share: "And did you get what you wanted from this life? I did And what was it you wanted? To feel myself loved, To know myself beloved on the earth" (Raymond Carter) M thoughts and best wishes are with you, Sharon (Duggan) Anderson

Marie, Brenda, and all the Beaulieu families, I am sorry for your loss. I enjoyed times with your Mom when she visited Ric and Marie. Her calm demeanour and stories always made my day. I will remember her as an incredible role model for moms and women, and love that your own love for her, Ric and Marie, gave me the opportunity the opportunity to spend time with her. Jody Farrell

My dear cousins, I'm so sorry for the loss of your mom. Aunt Florence was kind, funny, interesting, I always found her so easy to visit with. As a child, I remember feeling "just like at home" when we visited, all of us kids just blended. Losing your mom is so very difficult, I'm sending you my thoughts and positive energy. May you find some comfort that the "original six" are back together again! I love you all so very much!! Your cousin, Anne Biollo
