Obituary For Frances Darlene Diepdael

We regretfully announce the passing of Frances Darlene Diepdael, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, on Monday, May 8, 2023. After a brief, but difficult battle with cancer, Fran took her final breath surrounded by loved ones, at age 76, and is finally at rest. She will be forever loved and fondly remembered.

Fran grew up in Kelvington, SK, where she attended Ridge Valley School. After marrying Doug, they moved to Mackenzie, BC, and later to Wembley, AB, where they raised their children. In their senior years, Doug and Fran moved to Grande Prairie. Fran enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and painting, and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Fran had some struggles with MS, but persevered and eventually had it in remission.

Our family is grateful to know that Fran is finally at peace.

Fran is survived by her loving husband Doug; two children Lynn (Ron) and Duane (Michelle); three granddaughters: April-Dawn (Alan), Alyssa (Adam), and Katheryn (Kyran); seven great-grandchildren: Cody, Rebecca, Emery, Scarlett, Emmett, Kai, and Theo; two sisters Delia and Denene (Victor); as well as countless family and friends.

Fran was predeceased by her parents and her brother Martin.

A Celebration of Life will be held at on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at 2:00 pm, at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave.). We request all of Fran’s friends and loved ones join us.

The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider baking for the service.

I am so sorry to hear this about Fran. I met her in Wembley back in the days when she was working. We remained good friends over the years,did not always see each other,however whenever we saw each other,it was just like seeing each other yesterday.She was always smiling and kind and sweet to me. Sorry about your Loss Doug,Lynn and Duane and family. Hugs and prayers for you all during this time of grief and loss.
