Obituary For Franklin "Frank" Roy Kruger
Frank Kruger, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2023, at Grande Prairie Regional Hospital, at the age of 71 years.
Frank was born on May 19, 1951, in Barrhead, AB, and he spent the majority of his adult life working and living in the Peace Region. Frank always enjoyed an adventure and that was shown in his choices around work. He spent time bombing fires, he loved driving truck on the Alaska Highway, and he really enjoyed pipelining, drafting and designing gas plants, as well as facility construction consulting.
Frank loved the outdoors. He liked fishing, hunting, canoeing, gold prospecting and staking claims in the Yukon, riverboating, camping, kayaking, quadding, and golfing to name a few. He loved to share his hobbies with his friends and family at every opportunity he had.
He also loved to travel. He visited the fjords in Norway, went fishing in Sweden, canoed the Amazon River, and never missed a chance to explore the outdoors all over western Canada and Alaska.
Frank was a very devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was a hard worker and often worked away from home but never missed an opportunity to spend time with his family.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Eileen; his children: Nicole (Tony), Kim (Keith), and Dan (Janelle); grandchildren: Lorenzo, Natalya, Alena, Molly, Carson, and Ava. Frank will be missed by his sister Nancy (Jim), nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and his extended family in the Yukon, Norway, and Sweden; as well as his numerous friends.
Frank was predeceased by his parents Wes and Anne Kruger, and his brother Neal Kruger.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, from 7:00-9:00pm, at Oliver's Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave.).
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 20, 2023, at 11:00am, at Christ Church Anglican in Grande Prairie (6610 Poplar Drive). Refreshments to follow.
Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society AB/NWT Division (200, 325 Manning Road NE, Calgary, AB, T2E 2P5) or at support.cancer.ca.
