Gary Norman Helm, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, formerly of Peace River, AB, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, July 21, 2022, at the age of 65 years.

Gary was born December 16, 1956, in Hamilton, ON where he grew up. He moved to Alberta after finishing school to chase the western dream. He lived in Edmonton for a few years before moving to Peace River where he met Teresa. They had four boys who were born and raised there. The family later moved to Grande Prairie in 2005.

He was a very hardworking man who spent 45 years in the oilfield. He was very skilled in several aspects of the oil field: trucker, picker operator, and spent years cementing. He was also a certified life coach.

Gary was caring, loving, passionate, and always tried to help others. He was always there to help someone in need. He loved to chat with people. He loved his boys and grandchildren and enjoyed looking at photos of them. He loved boating, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, and, of course, the trucking industry. He would photograph everything on his trips to show everyone.

Gary will be sadly missed by his girlfriend Christine Drummond; ex-wife Teresa Helm; sons: Kelsey (Maggie), Christopher, Spencer (Cynthia), and Mike; brother Brent Helm; half-sister Samantha; mother Ruth Helm; as well as grandchildren: Syrus, Stella, Olivia, Henry, and Charlotte Helm.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at 2:00 pm, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Grande Prairie (11212 102 St.).
