Obituary For Gerald John Hiebert

Gerald John Hiebert, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, formerly of Saskatoon, SK, passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital, at the age of 70 years.

Gerald was born on December 29, 1951, in Borden, SK. He lived on a farm in the Blaine Lake area for most of his childhood until he met his lifelong Schweetie Patsy. He then moved to the Saskatoon area.

Gerald had a passion for driving which eventually led him to a career in truck driving. He worked for Federated Co-op and numerous trucking companies which resulted in many moves throughout his life.

Gerald loved his family deeply, but his number one love was Jesus which he made known to everyone he met. He wanted to make sure that people knew his Lord and Saviour! He loved talking prophesy and could always be seen wearing the name of Jesus proudly on his hats, and t-shirts. Gerald was a kind and gentle man, who cared deeply. He had a great sense of humour and worked hard to provide for and protect his family. He was a man of strength and integrity.

He loved fishing, the mountains, all wildlife (especially Eagles), and his grand-puppy Rufus.

He will forever be missed by his wife Patsy Hiebert; children Michael Hiebert and Sheila Meikle; son-in-law Ryan; granddaughters Jaelyn, Brea, and Ella.

Gerald was also known as “Bumpa” to his granddaughters. He was so proud of them and loved every opportunity to spend time with them. His brothers and extended family will also miss him deeply.

He was predeceased by his father John Hiebert, mother Mary Hiebert, father-in-law Isaac Wall, mother-in-law Melita Wall, brother Alvin Hiebert, and cousin/best friend Clarence Fehr.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at 2:00 pm at the Grande Prairie Alliance Church (Landing), (15502 102 St., Grande Prairie, AB).
