Obituary For Geraldine "Lillian" Newnham (nee Jackson)

It is with heavy hearts that we inform our family and friends of Lillian “Granny’s” passing.

Geraldine “Lillian” Newnham (nee Jackson) of Grande Prairie, AB, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 7, 2025, just short of her 92nd birthday.

Lillian will be forever in the hearts of her loving family; daughter Iona (Rudy); sons Rick and Russ (Desiree); grandchildren: Caitlin (Brad), Kamille (Jacques), and Marina; great-grandchildren: Kayla and Owen; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

We would like to thank the amazing staff at Wild Rose Manor, as well as the Home Care personnel, for the last eight years of truly heart felt care for our mother.

We would also like to extend a warm thank you to the nurses and doctors on Unit 12 of the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital, that took such great care of Mom in her last days.

Abiding by her wishes, there will be no funeral service. A Celebration of Lillian’s Life will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, which would have been her 92nd birthday. Tea, pie and ice cream will be served.

You are my sunshine, my only sunshine. You make me happy when skies are gray, you’ll never know dear, how much I love you. Please don’t take my sunshine away.

So sorry for your loss. I have always enjoyed Lillian . She was so kind and friendly and loved having visits at Bev and Dave's. She also came for communion and a visit at wild Rose Manor. Iona and family and all the other people in the family he i send my sympathy. Judy Barber
