Obituary For Gerhard Mueller

Gerhard Paul Mueller, longtime resident of Peoria/Smokey, passed away peacefully in Grande Prairie, AB, on Monday, June 13, 2016, at the age of 96 years.

Gerhard was born in Germany in 1919. He was raised as a farm boy. Gerhard, along with wife Irene, and daughter Christel immigrated to Canada in 1951, where he returned to farm life. They settled in Smokey, where he and Irene farmed and raised their family. Gerhard liked to spend time with his family in nature, play pranks, music and drawing.

Gerhard is survived by his wife of 69 years Irene and 5 children: Christel (Gordon), Ingrid (Boyd), Vera (Steve), Milton (Lenore) and Lyndon (Anna); 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his mother Martha and father August Mueller.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date with family and close friends.

My sincere condolences to the whole family. To Vera, Lyn and Mel - Your father influenced so much of the people you have become and besides the example he set for you to always work hard, he instilled that little sparkle of putting a little fun in each day. It is easy to see haw proud you were to have him as your Dad. To "Mom" Mueller - we only met in person a couple of times, but my deepest sympathy on the loss of your husband and partner for life. I hope your many memories give your heart a glow from within.
