Obituary For Gordon Otto

It is with great sadness we announce that Gordon Otto, a wonderful husband, brother and friend, and longtime resident of Woking, passed away peacefully in Spirit River, on Tuesday, August 22, 2017, at the age of 90 years.

Gordon was born November 12, 1926 in Spirit River, AB. He married Noemi “Joe” Floreani on July 6, 1961. Gordon and Noemi took over the family farm and resided there until 2015. They then moved to Spirit River. They were married for 56 years.

Gordon loved carpentry. He could build a house or renovate your home. He was a master carpenter.

Gordon loved to collect and catalogue ancient arrowheads and spearheads which he found on his land. He donated most of his collection to the Spirit River Museum.

He will be sadly missed by his wife Noemi “Joe”; sister Rose Yvonne Floreani; sisters in-law: Olga Schwemler, Alberta Floreani, Lena Floreani, Mary Jensen, and Phyllis Floreani; as well as many nephews, nieces, and friends.

Gordon was predeceased by his father Ralph Otto and mother Florence Otto (nee Dufour).

A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, August 29, 2017, at 11:00am, at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Rycroft. Interment to follow at Spirit River Catholic Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Spirit River Historical Society (Box 221, Spirit River, AB, T0H 3G0).
