Obituary For Gordon Wilfred Picken
Gordon W. Picken, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, in Grande Prairie, at the age of 91 years and 7 months.
Gordon was born in Ste. Jeanne d’Arc, QC, to Wilfred Edward Picken of Quebec and Ivy Nusome of England. He did various types of work such as: construction, line-work – power poles, mechanic, city maintenance, tow truck driver, and yard work.
Gordon was a unique, hardworking, and determined man. He enjoyed gardening and puttering.
Gordon will be sadly missed by his family; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; seven sisters; four brothers; as well as nephews and nieces across Canada.
He was predeceased by his wife Agnes; eldest son Jim; as well as daughter Cheryl.
A Viewing will be held on Monday, April 11, 2022, from 7:00 to 9:00pm, at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave.).
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at 1:00pm, at Oliver’s Funeral Home.
Memorial Donations may be made to Plant Trees (you can find the link on the left side, under Gordon’s obituary photo).
