Obituary For Greg & Cindy Hickok

Greg Lawrence and Cindy Irene Hickok, residents of Grande Prairie, AB, formerly of Fairview, AB, passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2020 in Prince Rupert, BC, at the ages of 58 and 52.

Cindy was born February 24, 1962 in Edmonton, AB to Al and Genevieve Baird, and raised in Fairview, AB. She attended St. Thomas More School. She obtained her Real Estate Licence in 1998 and made her career in Grande Prairie where she was self-employed. Cindy never had an unsaid word or a short conversation. She was a big dreamer and enjoyed getting her nails done.

Greg was born January 9, 1968 in Fairview, AB to Ronald and Lorraine Hickok, and raised in Cleardale, AB. He was a heavy-duty mechanic. He worked for Peters Farm Supply, Ford, Five Star Equipment, Bank Mechanical, County of Grande Prairie Fire Department, and Fairview College. He was a man of few words, worked hard, played harder, and was a “pedal to the metal” kind of guy. He loved duct tape, could fix anything, and was always willing to help. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, quading, boating, camping, bracket racing, numb bumb, demolition derby, golfing, snowmobiling, basketball, board games, and cards.

Greg and Cindy were marred August 8, 1992.

They will be sadly missed by their parents: Genevieve Bard and Ron and Lorraine Hickok; children: Ryan William Hickok and Damian Nethaniel Bryce Hickok; grandchildren: Asher Jayce, Liam Gage, and Bria Faye; Cindy’s three brothers; Greg’s three brothers and two sisters; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

They were predeceased by Cindy’s father Al Baird.

A Private Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at 1:00pm. Livestream is available through Oliver’s Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/olivers.funeral.home Video will start approximately 15 minutes prior to service.
