Obituary For Harry Rycroft
Harry Rycroft, resident of Grande Prairie, passed away peacefully at Points West Living, on Friday, December 1, 2017, at the age of 76 years, with family by his side.
Harry was born September 27, 1941 to Ted and Pearl Rycroft, in Sexsmith. He grew up on a Farm in the Teepee Creek area.
He married Marilyn Hoag in May 1961. Together they raised 3 children and lived in Sexsmith and Teepee Creek.
Harry had a love for horses, rodeos, and music. He played banjo, guitar, and piano. In his early days, he had a Barbershop in Sexsmith. He also managed the York Hotel in Grande Prairie, and was a Heavy Equipment Operator.
Harry is survived by his children: Ted (Carol), Kim (Blaine) Wrzosek, and Talbot; grandchildren: Jasmin (Brent), Chance (Erin), Brendon (Deven), Madi (John), and Jayce and his mother Melanie; sisters Kay and Linda (Don); as well as many nieces and nephews.
Harry was predeceased by his parents Ted and Pearl Rycroft, brother Doug, and brother in-law Barney McNally.
The family would like to extend a huge “thank you” for the Staff at Points West Living.
A Service of Remembrance will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at 11:00am, at Teepee Creek Hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Teepee Creek Stampede Association (RR 2 Site 1 Box 26, Sexsmith, AB, T0H 3C0, or to a charity of one’s choice.
