Obituary For Hazel Lillian Potratz Pillsworth
Hazel Lillian Pillsworth, resident of Clairmont, AB, formerly of La Glace, AB, passed away on Monday, April 27, 2020, at the QEII hospital at the age of 77 years. Her heart couldn’t take the energy that Hazel put into life.
Hazel was born on April 11, 1943, in Pouce Coupe, BC, to Francis and Albert Potratz. She lived in the Gordondale area with her older brother Albert until her dad passed away and her mom got remarried to William “Bill” Farnsworth, and they moved to the La Glace area where she was raised, along with her nine siblings. Being one of the oldest siblings, Hazel helped her mom raise the others. She later moved out and took up nursing, which she loved. She married Lorne “Bud” Hartman, and had three wonderful boys, and they farmed around Eaglesham. Later she moved to the Grande Prairie and Clairmont area. She then remarried to Vern Pillsworth and they moved to their family farm east of Clairmont, where they cherished their 5 children, 13 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. The past two years have been spent with friends at their Lakeview Seniors Community home in Clairmont.
Hazel had a huge heart. She knew everyone and treated them like family. She was very crafty, with a little bit of sassy.
She loved gardening, sewing, baking, judging, quilting, canning, fishing, camping, cards, watching curling, arts and crafts, visiting with family and friends, and watching all of her grandchildren’s events.
She will be sadly missed by her husband Vern Pillsworth; children: Shona (Bryce) Pillsworth, Rhonda Pillsworth, Darryl Hartman, Murray (Leanna) Hartman, and Ashley (Kimberley) Hartman; grandchildren: Bryce and Taylor Pillsworth, Tad (Laura) Pfau, Chelsea Pfau and Riley Pillsworth, Austin Hartman, Tucker (Stephanie) Baldry, Lane and Taten Hartman, and Bailey and Keeley Hartman; great-grandchildren: Kyle Lindsey, Lelin, Marshall, and Raelynn Pfau, and Sutter Baldry.
She was predeceased by her grandparents Mike and Marge Kolosky; fathers Albert Potratz and William (Bill) Farnsworth; brothers: Albert Potratz, Bruce Farnsworth, and Greg Farnsworth; sister in-law Vivian Farnsworth; husband Lorne (Bud) Hartman; mother and father in-law Vivian and Lorne (Steinke) Hartman; brother in-law Larry Hartman; mother and father in-law Irene and Frederick Pillsworth; daughter in-law Carol (Skrepnek) Hartman; grandchildren Quinton, and Dustin Hartman; and nephew Dion Farnsworth.
A Graveside service will be held for family and friends at the Gordondale cemetery.
A video recording of the interment will be available on the Oliver’s Funeral Home obituary page at a later date.

I was sadden to hear of you loss and I am sorry that it ws such a long time for my reply but I was unaware of her passing. We were great friends and she always made me laugh especially when she made in appropriate figure with her vegetable. She mentored me prior to my nursing care as a HCA at Mackenzie place and we talk often of Silverwood and the people from there. She had a great heart and an easy smile and I am truly saddened to see her loss.

Krzysik Ben and Donna
We are so saddened at the loss of a great person. She had such great energy and was always full of ideas and knew when and where to get things and make things happen. We are so grateful for the work she did for the trail ride. She spent so many hours making it a success. She almost lost an arm while cutting firewood You always knew what she was thinking because she would tell you exactly what her opinion was. She was such a good friend. Will be forever missed. We wish the very best to Hazels family Ben and Donna Krzysik
