After a long and healthy life, Helen Cameron (nee Brown) passed away peacefully on Friday, June 23, 2017, at the age of 95 years.

Helen was born on April 22, 1922 in the small town of Stone in southwest Saskatchewan. After leaving the farm and moving west to Alberta, Helen lived in Medicine Hat and Calgary before heading north to settle in the Peace Country community of DeBolt with her husband Dick.

For many years, Helen managed the clubhouse at the DeBolt Golf and Country Club and made the course a destination for hungry golfers who enjoyed her legendary hamburgers. She will also be fondly remembered as a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother who made the BEST Halloween costumes.

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughter Debbie (Leo) Robert of Kelowna, and son Rod (Priscille) Cameron of Grande Prairie; grandchildren: Carolyn (Gord) Gilchrist and Sharon Gerlach of Sherwood Park, Randall (Yvonne) Gerlach of Victoria, Michele Flaig and Nicole (Glen) Kalyniuk of Calgary, Tracey McLean of New York City, Blake (Sara) Robert of Winnipeg, Chantal Wozney of Kelowna, and Tyson (Jennifer) and Daylen Cameron of Grande Prairie. She is also fondly remembered by her nine great-grandchildren.

Helen was predeceased by her husband Richard (Dick) Cameron, daughter Joanna Gerlach, and sons: Alan, Stewart, and Roy McLean. She was also predeceased by her sister Dorothy Fix, and brothers: Al, Percy, Nathan, and Louis Brown.

A private family memorial is planned for a later date.
