Obituary For Helen "Lena" Christine Hagerman
Lena Hagerman, resident of Salmon Arm, BC, passed away on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at the Shuswap Hospital, in Salmon Arm, BC, at the age of 43 years.
Lena was born March 25, 1978, in High Level, AB, where she spent her childhood. Upon graduating high school in 1996, she attended Peace River Bible Institute in Sexsmith, AB. This is where she met her husband, Brian, whom she married on October 2, 1999, in LaGlace, Alberta. They lived in High Level for ten years, and in that time had their daughter Olivia, and their son, Andrew. In 2010, they moved to Sexsmith where they lived for the next ten years, and added the twins, Kaitlyn and Joshua, to their family. In July of 2020, they made the move to Salmon Arm, BC, where much of Lena’s family lives. Lena was always full of life and she loved to be with people having fun.
Throughout her life, she participated in everything and anything, taking advantage of every opportunity to be active and connect with others. Lena was strong and spunky, completing a 60km bike-a-thon ride at age 6, and winning second at provincials in wrestling in her senior year of high school.
She loved to sing, dance, play and create. One of her favorite hobbies was to capture memories in pictures and display them beautifully. She loved the water, and spent every chance she had splashing around with her children. She laughed often and infectiously. Her bright smile and sparkling eyes radiated the warmth and beauty of her spirit. Most of all, Lena loved serving her heavenly Father God and His Son, Jesus, fixing her eyes on Him firmly until the very end.
She will be sadly missed by: her husband Brian Hagerman; beloved children: Olivia, Andrew, Kaitlyn and Joshua; parents John and Margaret Wiebe; parents in-law David and Gwen Hagerman; siblings: Kathy (nee Wiebe) (Erik) Nijenhuis, Lisa (nee Wiebe) (Scott) Goodland, Ricky (Audrey Spellicy) Wiebe, Christine (nee Hagerman) (Daniel) Loberg; as well as nieces and nephews: Michele Wiebe and Cameron Goodland, Owen and Veya Nijenhuis, Liam, Ava and Jackson Wiebe, Abigail, Evan, Sarah and Jude Loberg.
An invitation only Celebration of Life for Lena, will be held on Monday, February 7, 2022, at 3:00 pm, at Grace Bible Fellowship in Sexsmith, AB (9515 93 St.).
A Livestream of the service will be accessible 15 minutes prior to the service on Lena's obituary on Oliver’s Funeral Home website.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to, Bear Lake Bible Camp (Box 390, Sexsmith, AB, T0H 3C0), or to (bearlakebiblecamp.org/give)

I'm so sorry to hear of Lena's passing. My deepest condolences to Lena's family. She was truly a wonderful person. When I was a little girl I remember seeing Lena outside my front window walking down the street on a sunny day with an umbrella. She had the biggest smile on her face! She always had that smile. So sad to hear of Lena's passing. I was in contact a few times since her diagnosis. I appreciated Lena's strong faith; she consistently expressed that even if things didn't turn out the way she wanted, she knew the Lord would resource her and her loved ones for whatever was ahead. Blessings to you all.

I have so many memories with Lena that I wouldn't even know where to begin: Cutting laps in my Grand Am with the cassette player cranked as loud as it could go Dressing up as the 3 little pigs and the big bad wolf She was the first visitor to come see me in the hospital in Saskatoon when Chloe was born. I could go on, but as I have reflected lately, in all the memories Lena is smiling and happy. She leaves a legacy of kindness and love.
