On April 14, 2016 Helen Wasowicz of Spirit River, Alberta passed away peacefully, of natural causes, at the age of 98 years.

Helen had a very strong faith in the Lord and lived that faith daily. She had a smile for everyone and filled her life with love for her family, especially her nieces and nephews.

Helen was born on March 24, 1918 in Herbutow, Poland and immigrated to Canada in 1965. She lived at the Pleasant View Lodge in Spirit River since 1989.

Helen was predeceased by her mother Maria (Stupnicka), father Karol Wasowicz, and siblings: Kazimierz (Anna) Wasowicz, Karol (Alexandra) Wasowicz and Frank (Josephine) Wasowicz.

She will be lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews in Poland and Canada.

Helen’s family would like to thank the wonderful care providers at the Pleasant View Lodge for giving care and comfort in her last weeks

The funeral service was held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Spirit River, Alberta on April 18, 2016.
