Henry Schlamp, a resident of Abbotsford, BC passed away peacefully on Friday, December 22, 2023 in Abbotsford, surrounded by his loving family at the age of 84 years.

Henry was born on June 29, 1939 to parents John and Elizabeth Schlamp near Swift Current, SK. Henry was the oldest of his five siblings.

Henry married Anne Wiebe on July 17, 1960 and they had four children: Phil, Ben, Kathy and Dorothy. Henry later married Norma Harder in 2005.

Henry was a Jack-of-all-trades and worked in many industries, including carpentry, farming, heavy equipment construction, lumber sales and spray welding.

He was a very hard worker and enjoyed woodworking, playing and listening to music, travelling, camping, seeking out adventures and tinkering with almost anything. He was thoroughly amused by telling jokes and pulling pranks. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Henry was a sociable person and was always eager to lend a helping hand whenever and wherever needed.

Henry is survived by his children: Ben (Anne-Marie), Kathy (Dave) and Dorothy (Tim); daughter-in-law Helen (Clint); grandchildren: Pam, Tanya (Matt), Philip, Taylor, Carlyn (Julius), Cayla (Tim), Celsey (Matthew), Mike and Andrea (Trevor); 13 great-grandchildren; siblings: John (Mary), Margaret and Jake; as well as sisters-in-law Marguerite and Agnes.

Henry was preceded by his son Phil; parents John and Elizabeth; siblings Peter and Dave; brother-in-law Dave; and wife Norma.

A Memorial Service with a light Luncheon to follow will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 2pm at Oliver’s Funeral Home (10005 107 Ave.) in Grande Prairie, AB with Pastor Peter Doerksen officiating.
